Chanderi Silk Sarees
Chanderi is
famous for its hand woven sarees. It’s a nenowed center for traditional weavers
of sarees. Due to the high demand in middle and other societies Chanderi is one
of the best known culture in India particularly famous for its sarees made with
mix of silk and cotton.
The quality
of the chanderi is in existence since mughal period. The production of canderi
has been protected by India as geographic indication. The traditional weaving of Chanderi fabric is
mainly done for making sarees and suit maerials. The Chanderi fabrics are
famous for their sheer texture, light weight and a glossy transparency.
There are
three kinds chanderi fabrics i.e. pure silk, chanderi cotton and silk cotton.
Motifs used in chanderi weaving are mostly inspired from nature. The cloth of
chanderi can be identified by its soft , thin and transparent texture. The
transparency is a unique feature which is not commonly or found in any other
textiles products all over the country. . These are having high demand
everywhere.
